The new chef in the house

French Toast is one of my personal favorite foods. I know its so easy to make, but I manage to mess it up most of the time. Aubree on the other hand is now a pro. Papa and Aubree made us wonderful French Toast and they had so much fun doing it. Papa let Aubree dunk the bread in the eggs. She was a little hesitant at first but by the end she was begging somebody anybody to eat more so she could do it again. Growing up we always had our syrup warm, so here is Aubree prepping the syrup. Not that you can tell but Hayley loved her French Toast sister made. Here is the Aubree finally getting to eat. The chef is always the last to eat.
Thanks Papa, now Aubree can't wait to make it for daddy

JURASSIC PARK COMES TO UNIVERSITY MALL

We had so much fun while we were in Utah. One of the fun things we did was went to the mall, which makes mom happy. About a year or so ago the mall had a flood which destroyed part of the play area. They have now moved it and improved it. Aubree like playing on the slide, but Hayley's favorite was the dino's teeth. So Happy:

Packing for Utah

Why do we bother buying toys when the girls have a lot more fun playing with suitcases? As Eli and I were organizing all the stuff we would be taking to Utah Aubree decided to play hide and seek with Hayley. The only catch was Aubree wanted to hide and have Hayley count, which would work if Hayley could count. The other problem is Hayley is Aubree's shadow and once Aubree was inside the suitcase Hayley did everything she could to get in there with her. It was hilarious, I also have it on video but don't know how to get the footage off the camera and onto the blog oh well.
Here is Hayley finally making it in:
"daddy, now you count and find us"We are so blessed that the girls honestly love being together

GIRLIE GIRLS

The day before we went to Utah Aubree decided that she wanted to get her fingernails and her toenails painted. I tried to paint them only once before and she would not have it, so I was excited that she was finally ready for what is defiantly a right of passage as a girl. Aubree chose a bright shade of pink, and then she also decided that Hayley an I needed our toes painted as tooHere is Aubree so happy showing off her new polish on the cat walk:To help Hayley hold still I put her in the high chair and gave her a snack. Here she is so happy to get out of the high chair:

Always good for a smile

The other day Eli and I sent the morning at the DMV office, it actually wasn't bad we were only there for about 20 minutes, who knew you could be in and out that fast? Anyway, the girls and I decided to drive Eli to work. Due to traffic into downtown at that time of day we decided to take surface streets. Once we got close to down town there was the most amazing sea of brown UPS trucks. Apparently there is a UPS warehouse down there and they drives were leaving for the day. No lie I counted 35+ trucks. It gave me this weird happy feeling, you know that when you see the UPS guy you can't help but smile. I don't know anyone who has never not wanted a package. It was neat to see so many trucks that were going to deliver so many smiles.

Dinner is never dull with us

For Christmas we received a gift certificate to the Chillies, so we decided to go. It was fun and the thing that made it even better the girls were really good. One of the things that make it easier is Aubree helps out with Hayley. Aubree is Hayley's second mommy, she is always making sure Hayley is happy and has enough to eat.

Aubree cleaning Hayley's face:

Aubree too busy trying to decide what to eat to look at the camera:

Hayley being cute:
Eli being cute:

I will be the first to admit I really enjoy eating out, maybe its the taste or maybe its the fact that someone else makes the food and then cleans up. MMMM anythoughts

There's a fiddle in the middle......

Aubree had her spring dance recital they did a cute little dance. The little girls did a a ballet to There's a fiddle in the middle. It is so cute to watch the girls who are learning so much. I have really enjoyed watching her have so much fun with her friends. It was so nice of Grandma and Grandpa to come and watch. To celebrate after words of course we went and got DOTS cupcakes. Showing off her ton due

Aubree's friends: Julie, Emma, Aubree, Izzie, and Gretta.Aubree and Emma showing off there pretty flowers they got from their daddies.

How we gonna pay?

Eli and I have always enjoyed the music of Rent. We have also really enjoyed the movie. However the Play is so much better. We were fortunate enough to be able to see Mark (Anthony Rapp) and Roger(Adam Pascal) who were original cast members. I never realized how funny it is, we couldn't stop laughing. It was so worth what ever Eli payed for the tickets.

Thanks honey it was so much fun.

Home Sweet Home

We are back from Utah and we had a great time. We did a lot of fun things and I am going to try and post them all in the next few days rather than all at once. We are glad to be home, but as soon as we got on the plane to come home Aubree was a little sad to leave. However as soon as she saw her daddy I think she forgot all about being sad.

I could have danced all night

Aubree has really enjoyed her little dance class. She is learning a lot about dance as well as following instruction. We just had another recital (post of its own to come). But one of her favorite places to dance is at home, and her favorite partner is her daddy.
For the most part Hayley's goal is just to stay out of the way, and when Eli started dancing with her she had fun for a minute but would rather be on the ground.

Another diaper change...

But this time I didn't have to do it. Aubree's baby doll was the one who needed a diaper change. She apparently had a dirty diaper and she couldn't find the toy diaper so she improvised with a Hayley diaper. She is so smart, she did it all on her own. I am always impressed at what she learns on her own.
Here is a better picture, notice that the baby's arm is in the diaper. I guess she may need a few pointers.

A Huge Personal Accomplishment

A little brain teaser I have learned from the Erickson Family is to try and use all the train pieces when making a track. And the other day I did it. YEAH!! Aubree had some friends over the other day and they were playing trains. I can usually only make a small track that in a oval, but the kids were climbing all over each other so I thought I'd try and make it bigger and na na na na.( Aubree noise, she makes when she does something.) I did it!

And then another tip I learned from Brett, take a picture of it so you can re-make it.

Hazah !

Eli has wanted to go to medieval times since we moved here. A couple of weeks ago Grandma Vickie was kind enough to come down and watch the kids so we could go with some of our good friends. We always joke about who gets to make the blod and here they are, most of them for their debut Jake, Eli, Lisa, Erik, and Angie.

Here we are with the guards, Eli was so excited to take this picture:We got to cheer on the evil knight, we were very excited about that. Our knight was very talented and much better than most of the other riders. It didn't matter that he didn't win, but he will always be a winner in our hearts. It was so much fun, especially having someone who knows a lot about horses. I was really impressed at Eli's knowledge.

This is something we will do again in our life time, I don't think it will anytime soon.

Solids

Haley has been doing so well with her solids. She has been eating 2-4 foods 4 time a day. We have just found out that like her mother she has a love for bread. She also really enjoys puffs, a baby food that is in the shape of stars that melts in you mouth (not in your hand, j/k). We have found that if you need her to be confined for a few minutes putting her in the high chair and giving her some finger foods does the trick. Here she is happy as a clam while Aubree got her haircut.

First Hair Cut

Aubree's hair had been getting very very long. It was past needing to be cut. So the other day when I was done cutting a clients hair she asked to get hers cut. So we did. Here is her before shots:
Here we are getting started:She did so good, she held really still and did exactly what I asked her to do.

Here is the end results:
Don't worry I cleaned this up off of the floor and placed it in a bag for the scrapbook
It has made a huge difference in combing out her hair. It looks really good, I did a good job if I do say so myself.

The Zoo for Love Day

My parents were in town for Valentines day due to my little brother dancing. (they made semi finals which was the goal, Yeah) Anyway we took the girls to the LA Zoo. As some of you already know Aubree loves the movie Madagascar. If you are not familiar with it there is a zebra named Marty (played by Chris Rock). Marty just happens to be Aubree imaginary friend. Marty does a lot with us. Aubree had only one objective while at the zoo, she wanted to see the rhinoceroses, the giraffes, and the zebras. Well 2 out of 3 aint bad. ( the rhino's were with the vet) We had such a good time and Aubree was so happy to take two of her favorite people to one of her favorite places. Picture taken by Aubree of giraffes:
