New Toy

Well after we had a couple of weeks or rain about a month ago we decided that we would like to BBQ for dinner. Well I guess that during the rain storms we had a little friend live inside out BBQ and leave us a few little "treats". GROSS!! So we had to get a new one, I could stand the thought of cooking on it. So here it is:
Its sooo nice. We love it. I know what your thinking: That's a pretty big bbq what did you do with the box? Well...
Hayley didn't really like getting into it dark so we had to put the light in it. Aubree loved it that she asked to have quiet time in it.
Now for the second question: what did you do with the other bbq. Well we cleaned all the goodies out of it (they weren't on anything the food touches, just a few on the very bottom of grill, still couldn't do it) and then we placed it out on the side walk with a FREE sign. Let me tell you it didn't even sit out there an hour, before someone took it.
To break it in we had a few friends over and cooked some hamburgers and hot dogs. Let me tell you mmm mmm good:)

waiting for sleeping beauty

Aubree usually doesn't take a nap, but when she does she's out. One day she fell asleep while watching a movie. Hayley woke up before Aubs did and so we did our favorite thing get the mail. As soon as we got back inside Hayley took a kids toys catalogue and went up stairs. Its not unusual for her to go up to get her Coco and Snugi (comfort items), when she didn't come back down stairs I went up to check on her and this is what I found:She climbed up next to Aubree and was flipping through it. When I asked her what she was doing she said "me, Aubree". I know that I say this all the time, but I love that they love each other.

My daughter dwelt in a tent

Sometimes its hard to have 2 daddies girls. One of the hardest times of the day is after Eli calls to say he is one the way while we wait and wait. So to kill time we made a tent to have a little snack in. Aubree loved it, but Hayley could have cared less. I guess nothing can distract her while she waits for the favorite man in her life. Even for Aubree once daddy was home it was like "what tent". Can't say I didn't try, right?

Sisterly Love

Hayley has been teething lately YAY!! But the down side is she hasn't been feeling great. The up side is she has been wanting to snuggle a lot. The other day I needed to get aid she her some tylenol and need 2 hands, so Aubree volunteered to hold her. So sweet, I couldn't resist taking the picture.

Santa Anita Derby Race

We have found a new addiction, RUNNNG! Who would have guessed that Eli and Nicole would like to run, and to top it off pay to run. We are loving it. We decided that we would like to do another race so we "RAN LIKE A RACE HORSE". If you know Eli then you know how much he loves horses. It was a run 5K, we were able to push the kiddies in the stroller. We started in the parking lot of the race track, ran through the LA Arboretum, and finished on the Race Track. It was so neat to run where the horses ran ( all be it hard push a stroller in the sand) We ran it faster than we ran the run at the triathlon, even shaved off 5 minutes. We finished strong as a family of 4. The girls were absolutely troopers, they were happy and even gave me a few of my favorite "go mama go's".
We find it easier to "want" to exercise if we have a goal that we are trying to accomplish so we are trying to find another race. Gotta love that adrenalin feeling.

Pasadena Whole Foods Triathalon

In March Eli, Trey, my dad, and myself ran a triathlon. We ran 3.1 miles, biked 9 miles, and swam 150 meters. I was so nervous the night before but was able to get a good nights sleep, woke up at 5:30am and was ready to go. We had 3 goals: finish, don't get hurt, and not be the last ones to cross the line. I am happy to report that we were able to accomplish all of them. As part of the race we weren't able to use music, which was really hard for me. Eli runs faster than I do so I was and am very greatful for my dad who did the whole thing with me. The hardest part was running to the pool after running and biking. When we were starting our last lap on the bike they said we needed to finish in 20 minutes, which I let psych me out for a few minutes. My mom, Necia and her family, Trey and Hope, were waiting for us to get in the pool when the said that with in a few minutes they were going to close the pool. My mom started to cry knowing how much we have worked for it, and Trey came out to tell us to kicked it into another gear. Well we made it!!!!! My dad is a better swimmer than us so he finished just before us. Although Eli entered the pool after me he was able to pass me, but waited so we could finish together. Trey decided that he was going to push it as hard as he could and so he finished about 30 minutes before us, which was nice to have him cheering us on. We had so much fun doing it we are looking forward to doing it again next year.

**** I can't get the pictures to load***** I will have Eli fix it when he gets home SORRY!!!

This is how hoarders are started I am sure of it

All of these sweet "art" projects were brought home by Aubree from school, want to know the funny part?
Aubs didn't make any of them. Literally these all came home on the same day, and all of them were made by the kids in her pre-school class. It is so sweet, but enough is enough. I have had to start taking all the art projects placing them on the table and asking her which ones she has made and (don't tell anyone) throwing the rest away. I feel bad, but she goes to school 2 days a week and brings home 2-3 a day. If I keep them all we will need to call Clean House by the time we start Kindergarten.

Mini golf for FHE

A few weeks ago we told Aubree that if she would stay in her bed after being tucked in for the night and not get out we would go mini golfing. Well she did (just long enough to get the prize though, any idea's?) We thought it would be even more fun if had some friends go with us.

Eli teaching Hayley, he is always telling them to play golf and get a scholarship in college. I guess its never too early to talk about college. Surprisingly Aubree remembered a lot from the last time we played, she didn't let herself get as frustrated. Our friends who came with us little girl played just like Hayley:By the 2nd or 3rd hole Hayley was picking up any ball she wanted:When your 2 is there anything better than doing what you want while being with friends?
I think that they were both so happy to not be told "no" while paying with the chains

Little red caboose chug chug chug

We are very fortunate to live close to a great train museum. They have quite a few trains the kids get to climb on and the best part its FREE!!! The kids really seemed to have fun. The best part was they have a little train ride everyone can ride (for a small fee). When we got on all the boys wanted to sit by Aubree, but the 3 boys plus Aubree wouldn't fit on the bench. So when my friend Kari asked which one of the kids wanted to sit by her and Aubree quickly volunteered. Leave it to Aubree to want to sit by another adult. We had so much fun right up until the very last minute when Aubree fell on a railroad tie and put a bunch of little splinters in her hand. As luck would have it Lisa had a band aid and saved the day.

Aubree was very brave when we got home and let me get out the big splinters and the rest took about a week to work their way out. She is such a big girl.
