Favorite of all times, or at least for the next 24 hrs

If your house is anything like ours, than I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about. This is the Little People Castle Aubree got from her Grandparents for her birthday, this is the current favorite toy at our house. This is such a hot toy that one of Hayley's favorite things to do it play it when big sister is at school. Today was no different after Hayley's dance/music class the only way I could get her into her car seat was to tell her that when we got home she could play with it. On and off for the next hour she played with it, but the second we walked back in from getting Aubree from school she was so possessive of it. I then explained to both of them that now they both needed to share the castle. Hayley was ok with this idea, but Aubree not so much. She knew she needed to share the castle but I never said anything about the little people in the castle. She held on to them like they were her last hope. After many tears were shed I asked Aubree to go upstairs and find her happiness. After a few minutes upstairs she came back down stairs and said she thought her smile was gone forever. BREAK my little heart all over a toy castle? don't worry a visit from the tickle monster we found her smile.

Whenever we get together there are always a couple of things we have to do: play dress up (the boys can be such good sports) and play DS. The other thing the in-laws make fun of us for is we like to all be together no matter what room it is, but our favorite is the kitchen. I guess its a good thing we all enjoy being together.

Snow Day

A couple of weeks ago at school they had a "snow day". The school had an ice company bring in enough crushed ice (snow cone esk) to cover the bike yard. For some of the kids it was the first time they have ever seen "snow". Aubree said they made snow angels, snow ball fights, and had a few sleds. When I picked her up from school and asked her how her day was, she said she had a lot of fun but wanted to visit the "REAL" snow at Gran and Papa's. Guess you can't fool her.

Here are a few pictures of Hayley that Aubree has taken. My only question for Hayley is where is you mama? does she know you look like this? At least she is cute no matter what, even looking like a rag-a-muffin.

Sometimes its easier to pay someone else to do it

After many many mornings ending up in tears because she had to get her hair done, we decided it was time to take off a few inches to get ride of the snarls. Well that idea sort of back fired, there were more tears while getting it cut than just getting it styled in the mornings. After a lot of patience and the daddy touch we were able to get it done. She loves the way it looks and how fast it is do comb after bath time. Mom is glad we don't need to cut it for at least a couple of months. I have only done it a couple of times in her life (I know mom's a hair dresser? should she get it done more ofter?) But every time right in the middle of the hair cut I think wouldn't it be easier to just pay someone else to do it?

I just realized that I don't have a good picture of her hair dry after the cut, I will get one.

Super Saturday with a twist...

On December 12, 2009 our ward held a three hour Super Saturday centered on Humanitarian Aid. Over 55 member and non member women were in attendance. These women donated both their time and provided the material for the service projects. We decided to focus our service on providing living essentials to women and children. Four stations were setup focused around quilt tying, making and coloring file folder games, knitting hats, and sewing T-shirt dresses for little girls. This resulted in the completion of two quilts, given by the South Pasadena Bishop to members in need, the creation of 50 file folder games which were donated to the bishops storehouse and 35 T-shirt dress were sown, which were given to a village in Ethiopia. In combination with a young women service project, 75 hats were also donated to a village in Ethiopia .
Besides the material results, sister were able to nurture friendships and learn new skills. It was very successful event, that especially left sisters with a desire to server more.

I would just like to thank all the sisters who came and supported our efforts. For all the sisters who enjoyed learning to knit we will be having a girls night in very soon. :)

Huge Mile Stone.........

This little girl is completely potty trained!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a long time coming. We had some complications that I honestly believe were a side effect of some vitamins she took when she was my tiny little preemie. So now I can say that everyone that told me to not stress that when she was ready it would just click was right. So in a little over a year and a half she has moved out of the crib into a big girl bed, gave her "buddies" to the Pacifier fairy, she is totally potty trained, and has become her little sisters security object. What else could I ask for? We are so proud of our Aubree!

new obsession

LUSH is Fresh Handmade Natural Cosmetics Complete range of natural handmade bath and body products. I LOVE IT!!!!! I was reading a few beauty blogs and everyone was talking about LUSH, I am just lucky enough to have one so close. I love the bath products, and one of the nice things about it is that they are all natural, the only reason I care is that I tend to be sensitive to some soaps. One of their products is a bar that you break up up under the running water and it creates bubbles, like Hollywood bubbles (the girls LOVE it). The "flavor" I choose also made the water turn purple (it didn't stain the tub).

Lush doesn't advertise so it is all word of mouth, so if you've never heard of it that's why. If you are into bath products I would highly recommend checking it out. When you get there don't be intimidated just tell them what you are looking for and that your new to Lush and they will take care of you.

A moment of silence please.....

I am sure that by now you have heard that of the death at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Nodar Kumaritashvili was a 21 year old luge compedetor from the country of Georgia. Eli and I were watching the watched parts of the opening ceremonies but totally missed the part about the Nodar, we were watching the news when they covered it. I was sick when we heard about it. I feel so sad for his team mates but most of all for his parents. To be so proud of your sons accomplishments and on his last run through before the opening ceremony on one of the last turns it all was over. What an emotional roller coaster. We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers and ask you to do the same.
The turn that cost him his life. The Olympic Committee has decided to make that wall higher, and that it was athlete error not the course. It was back open the next day. We would like to wish the other luge athlete good luck!!

Happy Love Day!!!

( I know its a few days until then, but I will forget and I wanted to share this)

The very first Valentines day Eli and I spent together he tried to plan this really nice dinner, he did a bunch of research and picked a spot. We were headed out to a quaint little place in Springville. When we walked in it was a hole, I don't really don't remember a lot but I do remember the seats had duct tape on them. Anyway it was kind of a disaster, so ever since we go to Panda Express. Yes, you read that right for LOVE DAY we eat at Panda Express, and it is always a huge success. So if you are trying to figure out something to do for Love day, just remember that we think Panda Express is romantic for us.

Are we Crazy?

In March Eli, my dad, and I are participating in a Sprint Triathlon. We will run 3 miles, bike 9, and swim 150 meters. We have some friends who can do it all in just over an hour, this will not be me. We will have 2 and 1/2 hours to complete it so my goal is to just finish. While training we are learning a lot things like:
- to us running on a treadmill is torchure, but we enjoy running outside.
- Eli is a great swimmer, I am not sure I remember anything from swim lessons as a child
- there is no need to weight train all you need to do is push 60 lbs of kids in a non-running stroller
- I can come up with a million excuses to not run, but nothing can give you the same feeling as when you are done
