Eli's birthday

Happy Happy Birthday Eli, dear happy things will come to you all year......

For Eli's birthday this year the girls and I decorated the house and got a pinata. The pinata was a new thing that is getting pretty popular at least with our family. Instead of whacking the thing to pieces you pull strings until all the candy falls out. Here are the girls with the birthday boy
Aubree pulling the sting
He got a few fun things for his x-box and a couple of other things. He had a happy day and we are so glad that he is in our family.

5-6-7-8

Aubree has really enjoyed dance classes. Here she is showing the parents some of the things they have learned.
Look at her straight arms and pointed toes.I love Hayley's face in this picture. She looks so mischievous.
I am currently trying to decide where to send her to dance classes now, any suggestions?

ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to go see How To Train Your Dragon on the the Big Scream (screen). But why go in normal clothes when Gran brings you Dragon Pj's? The girls were so excited to go and be dragons themselves. I couldn't believe how well they both did in the theater. If you haven't seen it then you need to, this one movie I will purchase on the day it comes out.
After the movie we ate at one of Aubree's favorite places Panda Express, she was so excited to sit at the high bar with Gran. Thanks for such a fun evening Gran.

Spring Break

Aubree had a couple of days off from pre-school for Spring Break. Eli took a couple of days off so we could have a stay-cation? (really is this what we are calling it?) We spend our first day at the beach with a group of our friends. Eli was the only dad, and he was such a trooper. We had so much fun with the family and friends that came to play. We also had a lot of fun at Cafe Rio as a treat after the beach. Daddy, the beach, and Cafe Rio what could be better???

Easter

Since Easter was on conference week-end we had our Erickson Family Easter egg hunt in between Saturday afternoon session and the Priesthood session. Aubree the seasoned hunter couldn't pick up the eggs fast enough: I think this is the first year Hayley really understood what she was doing: The girls had a lot of fun, and got a lot of fun things
I love it when Easter is on Conference weekend because there is time to do so many fun Easter activities. Our friends came over and we dyed eggs: ( the dads were both covered in dye by the end of this)
Then we made egg shaped rice krispie treats and let the kids dip them in lots of toppings
Last but not least we had a fun egg hunt in our courtyard followed by a lovely dinner with our good friends.

HOLLYWOOD!!!

In April we attempted to hike to the Hollywood sign. I say attempted because we figure we made it about 1/2 mile up and then turned around. If you have ever hiked to the sign you know that there are a lot of dogs on the hike, and even thought they are supposed to be on leashes very few are, and all though the owners are supposed to clean up after them very few do. So after 1/2 mile of the girls getting nervous every time a dog came by and dealing with all the fly's we were done. The girls were sports and didn't complain about going on our little adventure. We didn't reach the top but the girls did climb some tree's (Hayley really wasn't held against her will, it just looks like it.)We were almost to the car when Aubree fell and scrapped both of her knee's , luckily we had a first aide kit with big enough band-aids to please her.
I think we will try it again in the fall, there should less fly's then right???

Long time gone....

Its been so long since I actually updated my blog that I feel so behind that I don't know where to start. I am going to try and get caught up by the time Eli's next business trip is over. Here's to fingers crossed.

Sometimes I find our blog to be such a guilty pleasure and other times I just feel guilt. Its been months and I don't have a great excuse all I can do is try try again. So tomorrow will be the start of something new.
