Cannon power shot- BROKEN

This is the second Cannon Power Shot Camera we have had. The first one broke, so Eli surprised me and got me a second one. Well guess what, now the second one broke! I guess that just goes to show you that if you own one and it doesn't work very well maybe you shouldn't buy the exact same thing again. They both have had lens problems. I never really loved this camera because I feel like my pictures were always blurry. We are thinking about getting a Cannon Rebel, but now I am scared because I haven't had very good luck with Cannon cameras, anybody got one they LOVE? Let me know.

Hilarious!

So today I took the girls to McDonalds for lunch with some friends. They were having such a good time until I gave them the 15 minute warning. Then seconds later a group of high school aged kids decided that they wanted to play as well and pretty much took over the structure. I don't think that the kids really noticed but it upset me.

First: who wants to try and fit up in the structure as an adult.
Second: they were using some not so nice 4 letter words I don't need my kids repeating.
Third: isn't there somewhere else they can do?

I went and told the manager and he came pretty quickly, but by that time the kids were done. The teen agers acted like they didn't do anything wrong, even though they were going down the slides on the food trays.

But don't you worry Karma works and work it did. One of the kids had an accident in one of the slides, just so happens it was the slide that the teenagers went down.

BAZINGA!!!!!

So what do we learn from this? Don't mess with a mama bear and her cubs cause karma will get catch up with you!

Mid month report on monthly goal

So thus far I have cooked every meal!!! With the exception of 1 date night, 1 lunch we took the girls out for helping us with a lot of chores, and a few meals we ate up at Eli's parents house. Let me tell you if feels great!! I can't believe how much easier it is to have a plan and then just stick to it. There are days when I really don't feel like cooking, so we do something simple like French bread pizza. But the important thing is we are staying home and eating healthier. Thanks to all those who sent me recipes or links to foodie blogs, they have come in handy. So wish me luck for the rest of the month.

My sweet Aubree turned 5!!!

The kids really enjoyed making a dinosaur especially when Eli helps:
Hayley was a little nervous about some things, but if the other kids were doing it and mom would go with her then she would try:
We went in the museum with kids and left with these yahoot's:
For her birthday dinner she wanted to go to one of our favorite places Red Robin (no pictures)
After dinner we went home for some birthday cake, but no ordinary cake would do it had to be a Princess Tiana cake
It took me about a 45 minutes to decorate her. However that was after we had the dilemma that the cake was much shorter than the Barbie. Many idea's were given cut her legs off, maybe her legs would just pop off if we pulled hard enough, stick the Barbie in and cover the rest with icing.... My sister was pretty sure we could just pop her legs off like we did when we were kids, and with Papa's help she was right! I am happy to announce that after a short period of her life with out legs Tiana has her legs back and Hayley is much happier about it.
It only took Aubree one blow to blow all 5 candles out, with out much spit I might add.

We love out little Aubree, its hard to believe when she entered the world she weighed less than 10% of what she weighs now. She is the poster child for having a preemie, she is as tall as her cousin who is 3 months older than her and hasn't had any side effects from being born 6 1/2 weeks early.

Project for January 2011

My project for the month of January is going to work on making delicious and nutritious dinners for my family. I feel like we always eat the same thing, or we go out. So my goal is to not us eating out as a lazy out for making dinner. So if you have a yummy easy recipe please help me out.

2011 is going to be my year!!!

2010 was a little out of control for our family. I can honestly say my favorite parts of 2010 besides my cute little girls were running the triathlon, running 3 5Ks, and learning to make guacamole from my mom. A lot of negative and sad things happened but I have chosen to not focus any more attention on those things. 2011 is going to be better if I have to force it. Today while at a family get together we started to talk about goals for 2011. As I was thinking about what goals to set for myself I automatically started to make the same list as every other year. Lose weight, organize the house, catch up on my scrap booking, family time, etc. (you know the drill) Now after hours of letting those thoughts stew I can honestly say that if I take that approach I am going to fail before this week is over. If I really want to make 2011 better than 2010 (I promise it can only get better) I am going to have to prioritize the things that really matter.

So my 2011 goals are drum role please...............
- read the Book of Mormon cover to cover
- have family home evening
-work on liking myself for who I am now not who I think I should be
- work on one personal project a month

So how am I going to do this?
- reading the Book of Mormon: I am going to enlist Eli to do this with me, that way I have someone to answer to.
- family home evening: I am going to get the lesson together on Sunday so after dinner Monday I am not discouraged or running around trying to put something together.
- myself: surround myself with good friends who support and love me for me. I am going to remind myself who I truly am.
- projects: I am never going to get totally caught up on everything that I would like to have done. ie organization or scrap booking. Or get all the books read I tell myself I will, so I am going to do one project done a month. I would also like to read a book a month, but I am promising that is really going to happen.

I know there are things that I will look back on in 2010 with great fondness, and I am sure there will be a lot of lessons learned from the hard times. All we can do is learn from those things and try and be a little bit better, so here is to being a little bit better.
