March 2011 Goal

Soon after we moved to Cali Eli's mom gave me most of Eli's pictures as a child. When I first got them I scrap-booked a bunch of them but never finished. As the amazing scrap-book stuff collector I have everything I need to finish I just haven't, but now I will. My goal for March is to finish his book. So when I report in April I will take a few pictures of my favorite pages to show you. Wish me luck. If anyone wants to get together and scrap-book let me know.

February Goal:recap

Through out the month I tried hard to de-junk and organize the different rooms in our apt. I was able to pretty much finish the entire apt. The only problem is just because everything, for the most part, doesn't have a place doesn't mean they stay there. Through out the month I tried to stay on top of the picking up as well and would honestly say I somewhat better about my apt. Its funny how when we moved in I thought we would never be able to fill the apt, and now we have way to much stuff, guess thats what you get for having 2 kids. :) I have some bigger projects that are taking some serious thinking.

ie: we have a 400 disk dvd player and the remote has stopped working. Its harder to use without the remote, and we haven't ever really loved it. So do we get a new remote, get rid of the thing, or do nothing? Mean while I have kept all the dvd cases, which why keep the cases if you aren't storing anything in them? Maybe just keep the seasons of shows cases and put the rest in a disk book? If anyone has a great idea I would love to hear it.

I have also kept up on making dinner, and am amazed at how easy it is when you have a plan.

New toy

While out on a date last weekend Eli and I were at the mall and we wondered into one of our favorite stores William Sonoma. We purchased a Popsicle maker. You put the thing in the freezer for 9+ hour and then right infront of your eyes it makes the popsicles. It was a huge hit. The only catch you have to use real sugar, or 100% juice. So far we have tried California Gold (fresh tangerine juice)- DELICIOUS! Chocolate milk- moose bar anyone, and apple juice- didn't really work. It has become our new favorite thing to do. Here are the girls modeling with the popsicle.
So come on over and we will make our very own Popsicles right in front of your eyes.

Daddy's girls....

Last week while making dinner the girls decided we should celebrate our daddy.

So Aubree and Hayley colored pictures that we hung over the counter.
What kind of a party would it be at our house with out streamers?
And last but not least we had to sing "welcome home daddy" before he blew out candles.
As an added bonus I tried a recipe from a friend and Eli loved it!

look mom no cavities...

Last week I took Hayley to her very first dentist apt. Let me tell you she was absolutely fabulous. I love my pediatric dentist. He is very patient and very friendly. His office is very family friendly. Next to the dentist chairs there are 3 big bean bags and lots of toys. It makes it easy to take which ever daughter isn't seeing the dentist with you. Here is Hayley trying to pick her flavor of toothpaste and fluoride.

Hayley watching Dora (her favorite) while waiting for the dentist.
Here is Aubree in the bean bag chair watching Hayley patiently. We always have to take a stuffed animal to hold, even Aubree needed to bring one.

Tether ball the Erickson way

Eli's parents have a tether ball set. We like to play but our way, everyone stands way from the pole and then Eli spins the ball and everyone has to get on the tire before the ball wraps all the way around the pole.
And then we do it in reverse to get off the tire. This way its a lot more fare for those of us who are vertically challenged. It also is hilarious to watch Eli and the girls play.:)

Child labor?

A couple of weeks ago we had our little nephew over for a play date. Hayley decided what could make a play date more fun then crushing crackers into the carpet and couch? Well apparently to Aubree and my nephew vacuuming.

My carpets have never been so clean.

P.s. for my nephews birthday we got him a vacuum of his own and after he opened it he wasn't really interested in opening any other gifts until we hide it. hehe...
