This last week while waiting for the maintenance man to replace my stove top we were getting odd jobs around the house. So after steaming the downstairs bathroom clean, I decided that it would be a good idea to spotbot the couch. Aubree being such a big helper decided that she was going to move it over to the couch.
The next thing I know Aubree was crying about her toe, she had dropped it right on the big one. Thank heaven's it wasn't broken, she did however use it as a crutch for the rest of the morning. She would say, " no I can't pick up the block's cause it makes my toe hurt". Wait what how does picking up the blocks hurt but getting them all over the floor doesn't? After nap time we were in for a real surprise. Her toe nail had turned to a nice shad of green.
Later that night she was back to normal and able to help pick up the toys.

Phobia's are genetic?
As many of you remember Aubree used to HATE the sand. In fact at the park she would do everything possible to not be in the sand. If by some fluke chance she walked in the sand we would have to take her socks and shoes off multiple times to wipe the sand off. Well after extensive hours at the park with dad Aubree has mastered the sand.
Only to have Hayley feel the same way towards the sand. In the past when we have gone to park day Hayley is in the bjorn, I know she is getting too big hence the fact that now she know's what sand feels like. I didn't really want to put Hayley is the sand because I don't like the sand. I know maybe they get it from me. It's not that I don't like the texture it's the clean up after. Anway so reluquently put Hayley in the sand and with in 3 minutes and 2 pictures she had had it. Oh well less clean up.Ok so maybe they do get it from me, but I'll tell you something give me a sandy beach someplace warm like Mexico or the Carribean and I will deal with the clean up.

Scavenger Hunt
A couple of weekends ago it was so beautiful outside that we decided to go for a walk. Eli, Hayley, myself, and of course Cinderella Aubree. Yes that's right when Aubree is dressed up she is that person's name and then her's. Cinderella Aubree thought it would be fun to play game while we were out for our walk so Eli asked her what color of flowers she would like to see. She decided white, yellow, and purple. The yellow was for daddy, purple for Cinderella Aubree, and white for mommy. As we walked we smelled all different flowers but she only wanted yellow, purple, and white. As the walk was coming to an end we finally found a white flower, she was so happy to give it to me. As soon as she gave it to me I put it behind my ear which she thought was so beautiful and for the rest of the walk home she had to put one behind her ear, the only snag was that her ear is so small the only flower we could get to stay in her ear was the yellow one. How fun for something to be so simple but yet so neat to her. I think sometimes we take things for granted that at some point were really neat to us.

Warning! Cute and sweet but will take you out if needs be.
I am always astounded by Aubree's imagination. This is Aubree being a "princess fighter girl". As she was getting dressed to be "princess fighter girl" she was very insistent upon every detail of her outfit. She had to have the right bag, shoes, glasses, and maybe you can't see it but her leotard is on under, the right shirt. She is my girlie girl, who doesn't mind a fight every now and then. Here is Hayley with her game face on. She is thinking her sister might be a little crazy.

" mom, I'm doing it"
For the last few months Hayley has really taken to baby food. She eats 4 meals a day of 2-4 containers of baby food. She has pretty much mastered not totally getting it everywhere, which mom is extremely glad about. The other day Hayley had eaten 3 1/2 containers and was giving me her normal I am so full I couldn't eat another bite face. I walked into the kitchen to get a wet towel to clean her up when Aubree says to me, "mom, I'm doing it". I walk back into the room and Aubree has Hayley eating the rest of the last container. I am always impressed by there bond. And yes Aubree was waiting to go to dance class.

" not too much"
I have been coloring and making file folder games for Aubree to play with during Sacrament meeting so the markers have been out. Aubree LOVES to color, especially with colored markers or pens. The other day she was so excited to color and being the good big sister she is she was doing it where Hayley could also "play" by her. Well the only Hayley wanted to play with was the markers. The first time Hayley grabbed one Aubs said, " that's ok mom, she can have one" what came next had me laughing on the floor. Hayley went for another marker and as she grabbed it, it flipped the plastic container the markers were in. Hayley thought this was hilarious so she continued to throw markers. This did not go well with some of Aubree's OCD tendincy's because Aubree would pick them up as fast as Hayley could dump them and say " not too much Hayley, not too much" over and over. In the end I belief Aubree had to admit defeat. The really great thing about it looking back on it is Aubree never lost her temper. Sure with marker mayham she is cool, but not being able to zip her jacket up it is total tantrum. Oh the wonderful 3's.

Family Fun in the Sun
It has been a long time since we didn't have something that needed to get done on Saturday, so when we had the chance we took it. We decided that it would be fun to go to the park and have a picnic. To make it easier we made everybody the same sandwich, after getting everything else Aubree informed me she could do it herself. This is our new theme at our house. " I can do it", and this time she was right. For the most part Aubree was able to make the sandwiches all by herself.
The park was a lot of fun. Ever since Aubree was little Eli has been taking her to this park, he is such a good sport and even does the slides with her. This time Hayley got to go:The girls had fun going down the slides together.
In the end we had to pry the both girls off the swings so we could go home for nap time. It is so fun to just be together.
